Ryan Agoncillo was discovered by GMA 7. His first tv appearance was as one of the hosts of
Mornings at GMA. When he moved to ABS CBN, his hosting skills were noticed as he was given more hosting jobs in the talk shows
Talk TV, Y Speak and
Breakfast (in Studio 23).
Ryan's first acting job was in
Kristala as the love interest of the super heroine
Judy Ann Santos which became his real-life girlfriend. He was later cast in the classic drama
Bituing Walang Ningning.
He is also the host of the recently concluded first season of
Philippine Idol.
He did a digital movie opposite Miss International
Precious Lara Quigaman entitled
Umaaraw, Umuulan. Sadly, the movie wasn't noticed. He will star alongside real life girlfriend
Judy Ann Santos in Star Cinema's entry to the 2006 Metro Manila Filmfest
Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.
